What is ESSE?
ESSE is the Environmental Sciences Student Executive, an Official College Government Affiliate and Student Government Affiliation representing students of the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences [B.Sc. (Env.)] degree program at the University of Guelph. We work within the University, the city of Guelph and the academic community to provide resources, social activities and extracurricular learning experiences that enrich academic and professional careers, unify the student body, promote the program and create a sense of community for all students.
Services for Students
ESSE provides a wide range of services to Environmental Sciences students, including but not limited to: running events for Environmental Sciences students, maintaining the Environmental Sciences Student Lounge in ALEX 266, selling Environmental Sciences merchandise, representing Environmental Sciences students in the associated college governments, and keeping students informed about opportunities available to them on campus, in the community, and beyond.

Land Acknowledgement
We would like to acknowledge the Attawandaron/Attiwandaronk (Neutral) people on whose ancestral territory the University of Guelph sits. We also offer respect to our Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe and Métis neighbours and strive to foster positive relationships with them.
The colonial means by which this land was acquired remain unjust to this day, and the ongoing process of colonialism continues to negatively affect the quality of life of Indigenous groups today. ESSE hopes to maintain and encourage mindfulness of this fact, and actively contribute towards a future in which colonialism and its ideals no longer exist.
